Call for Papers

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a Deemed University, will be organizing its Sixth Conference on Empirical Issues in International Trade & Finance (EIITF) on 13th and 14th December, 2018 at its Delhi Campus, India. The Conference would facilitate exchange of ideas among renowned scholars from India and abroad.

We are writing this email to invite you and to kindly share the conference brochure/website with your colleagues for submission of research paper in the EIITF 2018 Conference. The details of the Conference are available in the website http://eiitf.iift.ac.in. A copy of the Conference Brochure is also enclosed for your kind information.

The earlier five EIITF conferences were held in 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2016 respectively and all of them received overwhelming responses from the academia and the policy research community in India and abroad. In the past, paper presenters from Universities and Research Institutes in many countries including Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Ghana, India, Iran, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Switzerland, South Africa, Tunisia, the US and the UK have attended the EIITF Conferences. We expect a similar positive response from the academic and research community in EIITF 2018 as well.

We are happy to share with you that Prof. Alan L Winters, distinguished Professor of Economics, University of Sussex, United Kingdom has kindly agreed to participate as invited speakers for 2018 EIITF Conference.

The theme for this year's EIITF Conference is “Technology Disruptions, Global Capital Flows and International Trade-Drivers for Economic Development

Any unpublished empirical paper on international economics and finance (Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification: E, F and G) is solicited. Submission of complete paper is desirable. Alternatively, researchers may submit an extended abstract clearly incorporating among others the theoretical framework, methodology applied, data sources and description, empirical results and policy implications. All submissions will be refereed for final selection.

To encourage young researchers who are currently pursuing PhD in the area of international trade and finance a separate track is added in the Conference. The best paper from the Doctoral Students will also be awarded cash prize and a certificate.

There is no Registration Fee for the Conference. IIFT will be providing local hospitality including accommodation to all outstation presenters on double occupancy basis for three nights: December 12, 13 and 14, 2018 (Check-out: December 15, before 12 Noon). However travel expenses will have to be borne by the presenters.

Last date of submission of the Final Paper is August 20, 2018. The acceptance of the Paper shall be intimated by September 10, 2018.
