9TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON

EMPIRICAL ISSUES IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE & FINANCE (EIITF)

12th AND 13th December, 2024, KOLKATA

EMERGING ISSUES IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT

 Reaching IIFT, Kolkata Campus

  • Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata Campus is 19.7 KMS away from the nearest airport, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. There are two railway stations viz. Sealdah(11.4 kms from campus) and Howrah(18.1 Kms from campus) connecting the city with other parts of the country. While the distance from Airport or from Howrah Railway Station to campus can be covered comfortably in an hour’s time by road (depending as per the traffic congestion), travel time from Sealdah Railway Station should not take more than 45minutes. In case you plan to reach Kolkata by train, beware of touts, who you may face outside the railway stations offering for help.
  • Prepaid taxis or yellow ‘No refusal’ cabs may be availed (located just outside the exit gate) to reach the address mentioned below:
o   INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE
         1583, Madurdaha, Ward – 108, Borough – XII
         Chowbaga, Kolkata – 700107
(Landmark: Opposite Heritage School and behind Ruby General Hospital)

  • Smart phone users may opt for App cabs like ‘Uber’ or ‘Ola’ to reach the campus. There is a designated Ola/ Uber parking area outside the airport and railway stations. Radio taxis may also be availed at the arrival. You may choose to call one of the following service providers: Meru Cabs (+91 33 44224422), Mega Cabs (+91 9090909090). The fares may vary roughly between INR 300-400 from the airport and Howrah railway station. The fare from Sealdah railway station should be lower, around INR250-350. The charges may however vary depending on surcharges applicable, traffic congestion and odd hour travel charges.

  • IIFT is located 2kms off the EM Bypass road (which is the main road connecting the airport and south Kolkata). Buses may not be a convenient mode to travel to the campus, especially with your luggage. In case someone wants to travel by bus, he/ she can avail the bus routes listed below.
o   From Airport: AC 37A, AC 37B (located just outside the exit gate)
o   From Howrah Station: AC 24 (located outside the station area)
o   From Sealdah Station: There is no specific bus stand outside the station. So it won’t be convenient.

  • Nearest bus- stop: Ruby More. From the bus stop, auto-rickshaw shuttles and cycle rickshaws are available, which can bring you to the campus. However, taking a cab would be the most convenient way while travelling to IIFT, Kolkata Campus.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research. Today it is one of India's most prestigious business schools.

No registration fee. But, it's mandatory to register by giving all your relevant details to submit a paper.

The Conference aims to have intellectual discourse on issues related to international trade and finance and provide platform to the researchers for communicating their views on their intellectual standing of empirical research in international economics.

To encourage young researchers who are currently pursuing PhD in the area of international trade and finance a separate track is added in the Conference. The session is open for all doctoral students pursuing PhD in Indian universities ( or recently submitted their thesis but degree is awaited).
