EMERGING ISSUES IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT






 Call for Papers

The theme for this year's EIITF Conference is ''Emerging Issues in International Trade Finance and Development''. We especially welcome original research articles with an International perspective. Also, research papers addressing indicative consequences of COVID-19 on the post-pandemic economy will be encouraged.

Sub-themes

1. Geo-Political Conflict & International Trade
2. Conflict & Disruption in Internation Trade
3. International Migration & its Effects
4. Long-term effects of COVID-19 Pandemic
5. Rules of origin & its effects on the Global Value Chain
6. Climate Change & Trade
7. Financial Contagion
8. Time Series Analysis of Asset Purchase
9. Transfer Pricing & its Role in International Trade
10. The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & International Trade

Any unpublished empirical/theoretical paper on international economics and finance (Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification: E, F, G, L, and O) is solicited. Submission of a complete paper is desirable. Alternatively, researchers may submit an extended abstract incorporating, among others, the theoretical framework, methodology applied, data sources and description, empirical results, and policy implications. All submissions will be refereed for final selection.

To encourage young researchers who are currently pursuing PhD in the area of international trade and finance, a separate track is added to the Conference. The best paper from the Doctoral Students will also be awarded a cash prize and a certificate.

Please note that the deadline for submitting the Extended Abstract/Full Paper has been extended to September 30th, 2024.

Tentative acceptance notifications will be sent out by October 15th, 2024.

The last date for Registration will be November 30th, 2024.

There is a small Registration Fee for the Conference:

1. Indian Paper Presenters: Rs. 1000/- (without accommodation) and Rs. 2,500/- (with accommodation)

2. Foreign Paper Presenters: USD 50 (without accommodation) and USD 100 (with accommodation)
All travel expenses will have to be borne by the presenters.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research. Today it is one of India's most prestigious business schools.

The Conference aims to have intellectual discourse on issues related to international trade and finance and provide platform to the researchers for communicating their views on their intellectual standing of empirical research in international economics.

To encourage young researchers who are currently pursuing PhD in the area of international trade and finance a separate track is added in the Conference. The session is open for all doctoral students pursuing PhD in Indian universities ( or recently submitted their thesis but degree is awaited).
